About Ken

More Than Just Trading

Welcome, and thanks for visiting.

My name is Ken Thiesse, and I’m a futures trader on a mission to become consistently profitable while documenting every step of the journey.

This website isn’t about pretending to be a trading guru or selling unrealistic dreams. It’s about sharing the real experience of learning, growing, making mistakes, improving, and developing the discipline required to succeed in the markets.

I believe that trading is one of the most challenging personal development journeys a person can undertake, and that’s exactly why I’m passionate about it.

My Trading Journey

Like many traders, my path hasn’t been a straight line.

Over the years I’ve explored different markets, trading styles, strategies, and educational resources in search of consistency. Every step has provided valuable lessons, whether through success or failure.

Today, my primary focus is futures trading, where I continue to refine my process, improve my execution, and develop the mindset required for long-term success.

Rather than hiding the difficult parts of the journey, I choose to share them openly. The lessons learned from losses often provide more value than the wins.

Why I Started This Website

I created this website for three reasons:

1. Accountability

Documenting my progress publicly helps keep me focused on continuous improvement and disciplined execution.

2. Education

As I learn, I want to share useful insights, resources, and lessons that may help other traders on their own journey.

3. Community

Trading can often feel like a solitary endeavor. Connecting with other traders who share similar goals creates opportunities to learn, grow, and stay motivated together.

My Trading Philosophy

Over time I’ve learned that successful trading isn’t about finding the perfect indicator or magical strategy.

It’s about:

  • Risk management
  • Consistency
  • Discipline
  • Emotional control
  • Continuous learning
  • Following a proven process

My goal is not to hit home runs. My goal is to execute my plan consistently and allow the probabilities to work in my favor over time.

Every trade provides feedback. Every trading day provides an opportunity to improve.

The Trading Floor Community

One of the most valuable parts of my trading journey has been becoming involved with The Trading Floor community.

The Trading Floor provides education, mentorship, market insights, and a supportive environment where traders can learn and grow together.

The community has helped me gain perspective, improve my trading process, and stay focused on long-term development.

Many of the lessons, ideas, and resources shared throughout this website have been influenced by that experience.

What You’ll Find On This Website

This site serves as my personal trading home base.

Here you’ll find:

  • My ongoing trading journey
  • Trading journal entries
  • Trade reviews and lessons learned
  • Educational resources
  • Trading tools and technology
  • Insights from the trading community
  • Personal growth and mindset development

Everything shared here is intended to be honest, practical, and focused on continuous improvement.

Beyond The Charts

Outside of trading, I’m passionate about personal growth, continuous learning, technology, and helping others succeed. Through my role as Head of Customer Support at The Trading Floor, I’ve had the opportunity to work with thousands of traders from around the world, helping them navigate challenges, answer questions, and continue moving forward in their own trading journeys.

One of the most rewarding parts of trading isn’t the markets themselves—it’s the people, relationships, and growth that come from pursuing a difficult goal alongside others.

Looking Ahead

My journey is still unfolding.

I don’t claim to have all the answers, and I certainly haven’t reached every goal I’ve set for myself.

What I can promise is transparency, consistency, and a genuine commitment to documenting the process.

If you’re a trader working toward your own goals, I hope you’ll find something useful here.

Thanks for being part of the journey.
